RESALE
Products brought to the yard are sorted and then recycled, but some items such as Square tubing, Steel plates, Copper tubing, Brass fittings are re-useable and resold. After the metal is sorted by type and grade it’s processed and then sold locally or exported in containers internationally. Metal is priced per kg and on a market-related basis.
Bin Services
We have bins in service for the collection of waste, ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Bins are collected and then brought back to our scrap yard to be weighed and logged at our weighbridge. Once the scrap is graded and weighed, it can be recycled or resold locally or internationally.
We do have bins available for waste removal, although this is not one of our primary services.
Safety Compliance
Durban Metal Co. is dedicated to creating a safe and happy working environment for our staff and customers.
Durban Metal Co. employees are fitted with the necessary protective clothing and equipment. Our trained staff members sre trained with the necessary first aid skills and equipped to take action should the need arise.
We actively engage in on-site training as well as making sure we are compliant with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Crime Prevention and Reporting
We recognize scrap metal theft not only a local but a global problem. We try to do our best to put a stop to this. Where there is theft in our local community, please inform us, so we know what to look out for and work with you to catch those responsible.
